1. Can I use my Open Text Online Knowledge Center,
TechLink or FirstLook username and password with Communities?
No,
not yet. There is an effort underway to provide single sign-on functionality
to the Open Text Online Communities site in the same way that the Knowledge Center, TechLink and FirstLook are integrated. The
Communities site provides self-registration and password reset functionality
not yet available in the single sign-on solution, so has been kept separate.
2. I received the registration
code through email, but cannot login. Why?
The
code you receive in your email is not a password; it simply allows you
to continue the registration process. Registration is a two step process:
1.
First you enter your email address.
2.
Next, upon receiving a confirmation code, you re-enter your email
address and this confirmation code to begin the registration process
though five more steps.
3. I enter my username and password and login, but
get prompted to login again.
There
are a number of reasons why you may get re-directed to the login page after
submitting the login form:

Communities requires that your Web Browser support cookies to maintain
your login session. Please ensure you have cookies enabled in your Web
Browser. More information is available here for Internet
Explorer and Mozilla/FireFox

You may have blocked communities.opentext.com
as a site that can set cookies in your Browser. This is a variation on the
issue described above and can be resolved using the links above.

Some Corporate network environments use a firewall or web proxy
between you and this site. It may not be possible to maintain a connection in
an environment where cookies, javascript, java are
disabled, or IP addresses change frequently. You can verify this issue by
trying to connect from another location, such as your home.
4. I have forgotten my password – how can I reset
it?
There
is a convenient password reset feature available at http://communities.opentext.com/communities/livelink.exe?func=llr.resetpassword
5. I have forgotten my username - how can I
retrieve it?
Your
username may not necessarily be your email address, but you should try this
first. If you still do not know your username, please email us at communities@opentext.com with the
email address you used to register your account. In turn, we can use this
information to identify your username.
6. Can I use this site with the Mac Safari browser?
This site runs Livelink 9.5 with Communities of Practice and is certified with Safari 1.2 on MacOS 9.2. The Livelink Wiki module is currently in beta, and therefore cannot be fully supported on any browser/platform combination at this time.
